Our public services are robust. They are often volunteer based, and full of dedicated professionals. Our firefighters volunteer and often risk their day jobs to assist in a broad spectrum of crises. If one of us calls 911 for a fall, a dangerous emotional disturbance, a violent person, a heart attack, or a fire, a volunteer firefighter will arrive, and they will be trained to help. We need to invest in these services and people because they are protecting us from risks seen and unseen. I am working to ensure everybody knows what the FD does in Carver County, what it costs, and what it will cost us if we don't support them.
